Riverdale season 6 premieres tonight on The CW with an episode that’ll have fans questioning the end of the fifth season.
“Welcome to Rivervale” will drop viewers into the immediate aftermath of the season 5 finale which left us on quite the cliffhanger. Betty and Archie were seconds away from getting blown to smithereens by Hiram Lodge’s parting gift before he left town.
Obviously the two will escape but how is the big question. And what about Cheryl’s spell casting? She, Britta, and Nana Rose recited Abigail’s curse on the Cooper, Jones, and Andrews family lines.
They may have meant it as a bonding experience to light their way on their new journey into Thorn Hill’s sovereignty but spell craft doesn’t always need intent to work. Sometimes simply saying the words is enough.
Could Abigail’s curse be messing with the town? They are calling it Rivervale now instead of Riverdale which is highly suspicious. Something tells us things are about to get quite chaotic before they can start making even a little sense.

Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Reggie (Charles Melton) are now the town’s power couple, while Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) move in together. But with Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) demanding a return to the “old ways,” this serenity will surely not last. And how could Archie (KJ Apa) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) possibly have survived?
