That’s something Dustin understands all too well. He has to make a choice during Gold Rush: White Water Season 5, Episode 3. Does he push his team despite the danger, or does he call it quits?
An earthquake hits in this Gold Rush: White Water sneak peek
What’s the deal during the episode? While Dustin and his crew are setting up, rocks start to fall. At first, it looks like falling rocks, but it becomes a much more serious situation.
There’s an earthquake. Even once the initial earthquake is over, Dustin and his crew know that this isn’t over. There are aftershocks, and they all have to think about safety when it comes to them. Dustin also points out that there have been two bouts of falling rocks in minutes because of the earthquake.

Of course he was always going to put the safety of his crew first. This is Dustin.
Sure, he has a lot riding on his season this year. Yes, he wants to make as much money as he can. At the same time, he’d never put his crew in direct danger of falling rocks for the sake of money. This is a guy with a level head and a conscience. We’ve seen him put his crew first before, and we will always see him do it again.
It’s not even up for debate. As soon as he realizes the danger, he tells everyone to pack up and move. This is a guy you want to lead your team.
