NBC doesn’t have many TV shows with unknown fates. Ordinary Joe is one of them, though. Could Ordinary Joe Season 2 happen at NBC?

We went into the fall 2021 season knowing that the majority of TV shows would come back another year. All three Chicago shows, Law & Order: SVU, and New Amsterdam had previously been renewed for multiple seasons, and the 2022–2023 season is going to be the last of those multi-season deals.

However, there are some shows with unknown fates right now. Ordinary Joe is one of them, and we’re looking at the chances of the series being renewed.

Ordinary Joe is one of the newest shows on the network. James Wolk plays Joe Kimbreau, an ordinary man who has a choice to make at his college graduation. We see the three choices he could have made and the paths they would have led him down. It’s a great series with This Is Us vibes, so could it end up being renewed?

Ordinary Joe Season 2 may or may not happen at NBC

It’s hard to call Ordinary Joe‘s future. The TV series isn’t performing all that well out of all the NBC shows. According to TV Series Finale, it sits in eighth out of nine scripted shows on the network in the demo. When looking at the average audience, it’s at the bottom.

This would be a bad sign, but not all NBC shows have aired just yet. We’re still waiting for the midseason schedule to air.

We also know that some NBC shows are coming to an end this season. This Is Us Season 6 is confirmed to be the end, and there are many suspicions that The Blacklist will end after Season 9. This would open spaces up on the schedule to encourage a renewal for the freshman series.

However, with so much already renewed, NBC will need to make room for new shows in the 2022–2023 season. That could mean Ordinary Joe is canceled after just one season.
