The Flash season 8 premiered last week with the start of a crossover event that’ll bring the Arrowverse’s heroes to Central City to combat the season’s first Big Bad, Despero.
Spoilers ahead of The Flash season 8 “Armageddon” Part 1 and 2
The time-traveling alien has come from 2031 to stop Barry from wreaking havoc on the planet. According to Despero, the future Flash triggers Armageddon. He gives no reason for why this happens only that it does and that he intends to kill Barry before he can destroy the world.
Last episode, Barry and a visiting Ray Palmer managed to fend Despero off, but it wasn’t easy. As the Atom, Ray caused Despero’s belt to malfunction and sent him randomly to a different point in time. However, that was only a temporary solution to the problem.
“Armageddon, Part 1” ended with Barry revealing his identity to the alien and promised that he’d get to the bottom of what could possibly change who he is as a hero to the point that he’d endanger Earth. Despero granted him seven days. If Barry can’t change the future by then, Despero will kill him.
In “Armageddon, Part 2” Team Flash attempts to get down to the bottom of why Barry would make the decision to unleash chaos on the city and planet he loves. Along for the ride this time will be Freeland’s masked hero, Black Lightning!

“Armageddon, Part 2” premieres Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. The episode will be available to stream next day on The CW app.

"THE FLASH SEEKS HELP FROM BLACK LIGHTNING — Despero (guest star Tony Curran) warns The Flash (Grant Gustin) that great tragedies will befall the speedster and cause him to lose his mind. Once that happens, Armageddon will begin. Determined to prove Despero wrong, Barry doubles down on proving his innocence but a devastating revelation from Iris (Candice Patton) pushes him to the edge and sends him to seek counsel from Black Lightning (guest star Cress Williams)."
