Where can you stream Encanto online? Is the movie on Disney+?

Nothing is more consistent during Thanksgiving than over eating and a brand new Disney movie coming out. We see the debut of the latest film, Encanto. The week’s big question is, will it be available on the small screen, big screen, or both? Here’s what you need to know about how to watch the Encanto movie.

Throughout these last two years, the question about dual-releases has become even more prevalent. Disney opted earlier in the year to attempt to release things on Disney Premiere Access at the same time as it was releasing in theaters. However, as more and more theaters have opened, some studios have shied away from this model.

Encanto follows a young Columbian girl who is upset with being the only family member without any powers. Stephanie Beatriz voices the lead role of Mirabel, which also sees the likes of John Leguizamo, Mauro Castillo, Diane Guerrero and features original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

According to some early reviews, it looks as if Disney has another hit on their hands. So are you excited to check out Disney’s latest movie?

Can you stream Encanto online from home?

No, the movie will only be available in theaters when it comes out on Nov. 24, 2021. As I mentioned earlier, studios have shied away from the dual-release, including Disney who saw success with Shang-Chi and Eternals, with doing well at the box office without being released on streaming at the same time.

For those of you not wanting to head to the theaters, I can see this following the similar suite of recent releases of Disney and being released for free on the platform roughly two months after its theatrical run. However, if it struggles at the box office, we could see the movie come out sooner on VOD.

Encanto hits theater on Nov. 24, 2021.
