Skip: Sense and Sensibility and Snowmen

For the whole family? No, this is aimed toward those who love Christmas romance movies.

What it’s about: Christmas party planners are everywhere this time of year. Two sisters, Ella and Marianne, happen to be planners and they end up with a new client called Edward. Edward is a CEO of a toy company, but he’s not a jolly sort of fella.

Ella and Marianne end up clashing with him every step of the year. However, will one of them be able to win over his heart and get him to give into the season of Christmas? You know exactly what the answer is going to be.

Why you should skip it: There are a lot of Hallmark Christmas movies and shows out there. Some of them are great. They offer beautiful storytelling and leave us feeling warm and fuzzy at the end. They’re a great way to just spend an afternoon with a blanket and hot chocolate.

This is not one of those movies. Predictability isn’t a problem. All Hallmark movies are like that. The problem is the way it attempts to turn the Sense and Sensibility story into something for Christmas. Sometimes, Jane Austen’s work should be left alone.
