Fans of the singing competition reality series are eager for American Idol  season 20 to premiere. When is the new season coming to ABC? Who is on the panel of judges? Here’s everything we know so far!

American Idol, like all other shows (and movies), was interrupted by the pandemic. Fans weren’t sure what would be happening as live auditions and performances were not possible. After some time off, it eventually adjusted and American Idol resumed with remote auditions. For some time, fans were not sure if season 20 would be happening. The singing competition series has a large following, but it takes more than that to create a show.

American Idol season 19 ended on May 23, 2021, so you already know fans are growing impatient for more episodes. Don’t worry, they’re coming in a few short months!

When is American Idol season 20 coming out?

Get excited! Finally, on Dec. 2, 2021, TV Line reports that season 20 of American Idol will kick off “a historic” season 20 on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, on ABC, the fifth season on ABC.

Who is on the panel of judges for American Idol season 20?

The source shares that Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan will return as judges in season 20. The long-running show will also bring back Ryan Seacrest as the host.
