Money Heist and 8 other Netflix shows and movies to watch this weekend

It feels like we just turned over to 2021 but we have reached December so the year is almost over! There is a lot of great content coming this month and this week starts with some great new Netflix shows and movies.

As always we want to make sure we give you a variety of options so we do give you a few series and movies from different genres. There are dramas, comedies, comedy specials, and even a manga movie adaptation on our list this week.

In fact, we don’t even want to waste time getting into it so let’s get straight to our list.

Best show this week on Netflix

If you are reading this, it should not surprise you that one of the best Netflix shows ever is my pick for the show of the week. Money Heist was a show that I took my time getting around to, but when I did, I became wrapped up in the phenomenon like everyone else. The first two seasons were some of the best television I’ve ever seen and when Netflix expanded the series it was impossible to resist seeing more of these characters that we had fallen in love with.

The show released the first part of the last season in September and people have been anxiously awaiting the final episodes. However, you don’t have to mourn the end of one of the greatest Netflix shows ever because a spinoff has already been ordered! The spinoff will follow the character Berlin and will try to recapture some of the original series’ magic.

Best movie this week on Netflix

With another decision that should not be surprising, the best movie this week on Netflix is The Power of the Dog. When you have a cast that includes the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and rising star Thomasin McKenzie it is impossible to ignore. The Power of the Dog is set in Montana in 1925 and features Plemmons and Cumberbatch as the Burbank brothers- wealthy ranchers.

Plemmons’ character falls in love with Dunst’s after his brother makes the woman and her son cry upon meeting them. The movie is a drama and I don’t want to give away too much but based on the description it appears that Cumberbatch’s character may have sinister plans for the son and perhaps for the love interest.
