1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the definitive Spider-Man movie. This film perfectly encompasses the heart and aura of what Spider-Man is and means. More than that, it’s also the best Animated movie ever made, and the best comic book movie ever made.

When Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse first came out, I don’t think anyone really knew what to expect. The writer/directors of 21/22 Jump Street were going to not only take on writing an animated Spider-Man film, but were going to fully introduce the most recent Spider-Character, and a slew of relatively unknown Spider-People, into the world.

However, from the very beginning you could tell there was something different about this film. This wan’t just a movie about a comic book character, this was a comic book transformed into a movie. The exhilarating animation style, mixed with the speech bubbles and the frame rate alterations allowed this film to flow and move just as if you were reading it from a comic itself.

Also, as I said before, this film understands what it means to be Spider-Man, and what Spider-Man means, better than almost any other Spider-Man material out there. Spider-Man can be anyone, Spider-Man IS anyone, because to be Spider-Man doesn’t mean to have the powers of a Spider, but to have the heart of a hero.

Also, as a massive fan of Nic Cage – I truly think he is one of the greatest actors ever – it is inspiring to see him play a Spider-Man character. Even if it’s just a voice, he, and the rest of the voice cast, all bring their very best to every section of the story.

Into the Spider-Verse is emotional and emotional and funny ride that truly remains one of the best Spider-Man movies to date. It completely reinvigorates the superhero genre and proves how far animation and comic book stories can even go. It’s an unequivocal masterpiece that should, and will, go down as one of the best movies ever made.
