7. Mom

How many seasons: 8

Network it aired on: CBS

How it ended: There was a lot going on in the final episode of Mom. Bonnie and Adam had to deal with Adam’s health scare, while Jill announces that she’s getting married the following day and she wants Bonnie and Adam there. There’s also a new member at AA, Shannon, who Bonnie wants to help.

We never did get to find out if Adam would be okay. What we did get is Bonnie understanding what a “grateful alcoholic” is, and it brought us full circle in her character development throughout the series.

Why it still stings: The ending to this makes it one of the TV show cancellations that stings the most. We were left with a few questions, especially when it came to Adam’s health. Would he survive? Would be pick up in the future finding out that his biopsy came back with cancer? There were just too many unknowns for the series.

On top of that, it was a surprise cancellation. While we did worry when Anna Faris left the series, the group of women had captured our hearts already and were able to keep everything going. We realized that it was the entire group we watched for, and we wanted to see more of these women succeed, fail, and succeed again.
