Spoilers ahead of The Flash season 8

The Flash season 8’s “Armageddon” crossover came to a close with Barry getting one up on his archnemesis, Eobard Thawne, after the villain’s near fade from existence prompted Team Flash to question whether or not they could let the man die.

Ultimately, they chose to strip him of his powers which Thawne equates to killing him anyway. Obviously, we’re not done with his character by a long shot but for now the season will be moving on.

Here’s what we know about episode 6 from its premiere date to what’s set to happen in the rest of The Flash season 8 thanks to Bart and Nora’s return to the show!

Is a new episode of The Flash season 8 on tonight?

No. Now that the “Armageddon” crossover is done, The Flash season 8 is on its winter hiatus. All five episodes of the event are now available to stream on The CW app and cwtv.com.

When does The Flash season 8 return in 2022?

New episodes of The Flash will begin airing on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. This is a change from the Tuesday night premieres the season had during the “Armageddon” event, so you’ll want to mark your calendars so you don’t miss episode 6’s premiere.

What’s next in The Flash season 8?

Now that Thawne has been dealt with for the time being, we’ll be dropping into the meat of the rest of the season which kicks off with the return of Bart and Nora. It seems the two siblings have messed up the timeline, sending it into a flux they’ll need to correct before the future as they know it is changed significantly.

As such we’ll be thrown back in time with the pair, presumably to Barry’s first year as a superhero. In the trailer (shared below), the siblings encounter Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett)–their mother’s deceased fiancé who’d sacrificed his life to erase a version of the Reverse Flash in season 1.

There’s sure to be many an Easter egg in this flashback episode. How it might tie into the rest of the season is unclear, however, Eddie’s appearance isn’t the only blast from the past we’ll encounter in season 8.

Robbie Amell will be reprising is role as Caitlin’s husband Ronnie Raymond (also known as Firestorm) and Max Adler will return as The Hotness, a metahuman Iris faced off against when she’d inadvertently been given Barry’s speed powers in season 4.

Considering Bart and Nora are dealing with time issues, and the season will be exploring Iris’ time sickness further, we’re in for quite the head trip in The Flash season 8 when it comes to the timeline.
