Echo on Disney+: All the details to know about the upcoming series

After meeting Maya in Hawkeye, Marvel fans can’t wait for the release of Echo on Disney+. Below, we share everything we know about the upcoming series so far, including a first-look image and more!

In Hawkeye, audiences meet Maya Lopez (portrayed by Alaqua Cox), who, after learning the truth about her father’s death, decides to leave Kingpin’s crew. At the time of this writing, we’re not sure exactly how closely the series will stick to the comics, but we should see Maya after the events in Hawkeye. 

Echo release date predictions

Unfortunately, we don’t have the answer for you just yet. There is no date confirmed just yet, but we do know that it is not coming in the year 2022 as we had earlier hoped. Instead, on May 17, the series began production and teased a release date in the year 2023. In the press release Disney+ announced that Echo will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.

Who stars in Echo?

Alaqua Cox, who plays Maya in Hawkeye, will return as Maya Lopez. Cox was born deaf and is an amputee with a prosthetic leg, so what we saw in Hawkeye is the real deal. In addition to Cox, the series will also star Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs and Cody Lightning, with Graham Greene, and Zahn McClarnon

What is Echo about?

While a synopsis has not been released, Disney+ did share that the series will follow the “unforgiving Maya Lopez,” a deaf gang leader who wanted revenge for her father’s death.
