MCU fans are upset after watching Hawkeye season 1 finale

The finale for Hawkeye is now streaming on Disney+ and fans are having mixed reactions, to say the least. After watching the final episode, audiences took to Twitter to share how upset they are about a main character death.

Spoilers ahead if you have not watched Hawkeye episode 6, “So This is Christmas?,” on Disney+. Watch the episode first before reading on! 

This year has been a real treat for Marvel fans everywhere. Our eyes and minds are still processing the awesomeness that is Spider-Man: No Way Home, and we couldn’t wait to sit down and watch the series finale (assuming there’s no second season) of Hawkeye. After being teased with the appearance of Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), fans were hoping to see plenty of the character.

Did Kingpin really die in Hawkeye episode 6?

After Maya learns the truth about Wilson Fisk, she finds him and kills him — or so we think! We hear a gunshot, but we don’t see a dead body. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve watched enough TV and movies to know that you NEED to see the body to confirm a character’s death.

If Wilson Fisk is dead, fans are upset that such a fan favorite returned for only one episode, but hey, this wasn’t Kingpin’s show. And Maya being the one who kills offers her character closure and an opportunity to grow.

I do wish that Daredevil aka Matt Murdock would have been the one to end Wilson Fisk, but Matt would not have killed him, he doesn’t kill. Matt would just put him in prison and Wilson would escape…again.

No one is truly dead until we see a body! Maybe Maya left Wilson believing he’s dead, but he’s only injured. Or perhaps we’ll learn more when Echo premieres. Only time will tell! But I, for one, am glad I got to see Kingpin again.
