The Bachelorette season 18 might’ve just ended last week, but that doesn’t mean newly-engaged couple Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya are taking things slow. The pair are head over heels in love and want to get married as quickly as possible!

Despite Nayte seeming hesitant and not ready to get engaged on The Bachelorette, he professed his true feelings in the finale and got down on one knee. Even Michelle’s parents were unsure about Michelle and Nayte’s future, but her mom set the record straight during the After the Final Rose special — she loves Nayte now!

So how soon are we talking for us to hear the wedding bells? Well, a 2022 ceremony seems likely! During a recent interview with People Magazine, Michelle and Nayte revealed they’re already wedding planning and do not want a long engagement.

“The planning is picking up speed,” Michelle told the publication. “No shade to anybody who wants a long engagement, but that’s not us. We’re like, cool, you’re my person, I’m your person. We’re ready!”

Nayte added, “I’m looking forward to packing up and seeing what Minnesota is like. I’m all in. And I’m excited! We are both leaning towards a summertime wedding.”

In case you missed it, ABC surprised Nayte and Michelle with a down payment on a house in Minnesota during After the Final Rose, and Nayte has already expressed how excited he is to move to Michelle’s native state. He’s seriously all in and we love to see it!


According to Nayte’s LinkedIn profile, he recently started a new job in Austin, Texas as an Accountant Executive at a company called DISCO. Hopefully he has the option to work remotely, as he won’t be able to commute from Minnesota! As for Michelle, she’s an elementary school teacher and will likely continue that career.

Although many fans weren’t sure about Nayte while he was on The Bachelorette, he’s certainly proving himself now and we’re excited to hear more from the adorable couple. We’re sure we’ll be seeing wedding photos in no time!
