Where can you stream Scream 5 online? Is the movie on HBO Max?

We have the first big movie release of the year and I for one and SUPER excited about it. The fifth installment of the Scream franchise is here and the gang is back together to take down Ghostface. The big question is, will it be available on the small screen, big screen, or both? Here’s what you need to know about how to watch Scream 5.

It’s been 11 years since the release of Scream 4. There has since been a TV show created around the franchise with three seasons. Speaking of which, have you watched it? Would you recommend it? I haven’t watched it yet, but I’ve thought about binging it.

Twenty-five years after the original murders in Woodsboro, a new killer has arrived in town and the entire original squad must come together to take them down. I love that we have the original squad back in Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. I also like seeing some fresh faces in the cast as well with Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

Can you stream Scream 5 online from home? 

Sadly, no. The studio has pushed this movie several times to make it a theatrical release. They are banking on the hopes of it making good money based on the franchise’s return.

One thing to keep an eye out for is if the latest COVID variant causes the box office not to be as big as they hoped. I would say this could lead to the studio dropping it on VOD sooner than it had wanted.

Another thing to know is that Paramount has a 45-day theatrical window which means after that 45 days, they can release it on Paramount+. As son as this happens or it becomes official, we’ll update this post!
