Batwoman season 3 returns tonight with “Trust Destiny,” the eighth episode of the season which promises a masquerade and boasts a meet up between Poison Mary and the new Joker.

When we last left Ryan and the rest of Team Bat, they were down bad. Marquis had successfully taken over Wayne Enterprises with Luke barely having enough time to lock the bat cave away from prying eyes. All they have now is the Batwoman suit and the batmobile left at their disposal.

Essentially operating at a tenth of their usual level, the team will have their work cut out for them trying to save Mary from Poison Ivy’s infection and somehow get a handle on Marquis whose antics are just getting started. Not to mention Mary’s team-up with Alice can only spell trouble.

The two sisters bonded in the season 3 midseason finale as they collected blood for Alice’s transfusion. Now that she’s off her court ordered leash, the former serial killer is free to do what she wants including making Gotham her playground again with Mary by her side.

The series of events that led to this less than ideal situation were only the start of the slide downhill for these characters as things continue to spiral out of control. But, hey, it wouldn’t be Gotham if it were any other way.
