Believe it or not, it’s been almost nine years since the finale of The Office aired on NBC. The bittersweet end to one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time saw Michael Scott (Steve Carell) returning to Scranton, Pennsylvania to celebrate the wedding of Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey), and his appearance certainly brought tears from viewers.

Of course, Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beesley (Jenna Fischer) were still around, and were just as happy to see their former boss back in town. Well, just as former and present Dunder Mifflin employees reunited all those years ago for the last episode, it looks like Steve Carell and John Krasinski will be teaming up again for another project. Count me in!

According to Deadline, Krasinski will direct a new movie called If from Paramount Pictures, starring Carell, Ryan Reynolds, Alan Kim, Cailey Fleming and Louis Gossett Jr. Krasinski is also set to star.

Though an official synopsis for If has not been released, the story is based on Krasinski’s “original idea about a child’s journey to rediscover their imagination.” An official age rating has not yet been disclosed.

Since The Office wrapped back in 2013, Krasinski started to focus on directing, helming The Hollars, A Quiet Place and more recently A Quiet Place Part 2. The actor saw critical acclaim for the Quiet Place series, and a third one is on its way — though Krasinski won’t direct.

As for Carell, he’s continued to star in comedies such as Netflix’s Space Force, but he has also taken on more dramatic roles, even being nominated for an Academy Award for his role in Foxcatcher.

A reunion on-screen for Carell and Krasinski is way overdue, and we can’t wait to see what this new movie is all about.

If is scheduled for a Nov. 17, 2023 release.
