Most of our favorite celebrities live the most lavish lives, and that includes big mansions and impressive landscapes. For Friends alum Courteney Cox, she owns a place in Malibu, California, along with a home in Los Angeles, California. Well, she used to have a house in L.A., that is until she was forced to sell it.

The reason Cox decided to sell her home is really scary, but to some, it might seem a bit ridiculous. It all depends on whether or not you believe in ghosts. That’s right — the Shining Vale star abandoned her lovely L.A. home all because she was convinced it was haunted. Looks like she isn’t as brave with spooky stuff as her Scream character Gale Weathers!

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this month, Cox gave the rundown on what happened with her house. As reported by House Beautiful, the 57-year-old discussed how there’s always a music jam session going on at her home, as she’s friends with Ed Sheeran and is dating Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid.

Cox went on to talk about her new show Shining Vale, when Kimmel asked if she believes in ghosts. The actress explained singer Carole King used to live in her home, and recalled that after hearing the ghost stories, the two celebrities did a séance together.

The Monica Geller star apparently wasn’t too sold on the idea until a UPS worker came to her house and convinced her. She recalled:

"“I was at the house one day, not being a believer. And the doorbell rang. It was a UPS guy or something, and I opened the door and he said, ‘Do you know this house is haunted?’ And I go, ‘Yeah, why? Why do you think that?’ He goes, ‘Because there is someone standing behind you.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s sell.'”"

“I couldn’t sleep there alone ever again,” Cox told Kimmel.

Kimmel couldn’t believe that was the reason Cox decided to sell her house, but it’s true! The Friends actress is certainly a believer of ghosts now and we do not blame her.
