What is A Friend of the Family on Peacock about?

A Friend of the Family, a new true crime drama that’s going to have all of our attention. To be honest, A friend of the Family had me at “true crime drama,” it’s my favorite genre, but the cast is also a reason to watch! Below, we share all you need to know, including who stars in the upcoming series and what A Friend of the Family is all about.

A Friend of the Family has just added McKenna Grace to the star-studded cast. You may recognize Grace from Gifted, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Annabelle Comes Home, and other projects. Oh yes, the talented young star is no stranger to the business, and I know we’ll be seeing even more of her in the near future.

McKenna Grace joins Anna Paquin, Jake Lacy, Colin Hanks, and Lio Tipton. Told you the cast was another big reason to watch! Now, what is it about and when can you watch?

What is A Friend of the Family about?

Based on Stolen Innocence: The Jan Broberg Story (Jan Broberg and Mary Ann Broberg are also serving as producers here), A Friend of the Family will follow the unbelievable true story of the Broberg’s, a family whose daughter, Jan, was kidnapped several times by a “family friend.” If this rings a bell, the story has also been documented in Netflix’s Abducted in Plain Sight, and when I say it’s one of the most bizarre stories I have every heard of…I mean it! If you haven’t watched it, do it ASAP! You will not believe your eyes.

Grace will be playing the role of Jan Broberg, Anna Paquin will be Mary Ann Broberg, Jake Lacy will take on the role of Robert Berchtold, Colin Hanks will transform into Bob Broberg, and Lio Lipton will play Gail Berchtold.

As for the release date, it’s too soon to know! The series likely won’t be ready to stream until early 2023, but we’ll update you as soon as we learn more.
