The Flight Attendant season 2 release date, synopsis, cast, and trailer
In just a little more than two weeks we’ll have The Flight Attendant season 2 is officially back on our screens! The long-awaited season is almost here!
If you need a refresher ahead of the second season, we’ve got your back. The Kaley Cuoco-led series follows Cassie Bowden, an alcoholic flight attendant. When she wakes up in bed to find the man she slept with is dead, that sends her on a crazy path most people would not find themselves on. Plus she inconveniently can’t remember what happened.
But throughout the episodes the night comes back to her in flashes and we end the season on a pretty good note. The real murderer is caught, Cassie decides to quit drinking, and she gets a cool side gig – she’s now a human asset with the CIA.
Everything is all good, right? Well it seems that way for a little while, but challenging times are yet to come for our favorite troubled flight attendant. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the new season.
The Flight Attendant season 2 release date
The Flight Attendant season 2 drops on HBO Max April 21.
On premiere day, we’ll be treated with two new episodes. The eight-episode season will then continue with another two episodes on April 28, followed by one episode weekly until the finale on May 26.
The Flight Attendant season 2 synopsis
Entertainment Weekly previously reported that season 2 picks up a year after the end of the first season. HBO Max also shared the season’s synopsis:
"Cassie Bowden is living her best sober life in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to inadvertently witness a murder, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue."
This girl just attracts all kinds of international drama doesn’t she? On top of getting caught up in another murder case, someone is trying to impersonate Cassie and possibly frame her. Can’t she just be happy living the sober life and spending time with her new beau?
The pressure of these extraordinary circumstances bring something back that Cassie hoped she’d left behind. It’s the mind world she created. But instead of her dead one-night stand, this time she’s talking to herself. Three other Cassie’s actually!
The Flight Attendant season 2 cast
Obviously the lovely leading lady, Kaley Cuoco will be back. Here are all the familiar faces from season 1 who will be reprising their roles:
- Zosia Mamet as Annie Mouradian
- Deniz Akdeniz as Max
- T.R. Knight as Davey Bowden
- Griffin Matthews as Shane Evans
- Rosie Perez as Megan Briscoe
- Yasha Jackson as Jada Harris
- Audrey Grace Marshall as Young Cassie
It’s great to see Annie and Max back. The couple helped Cassie a lot in season 1, and it seems that’s the case once again in the second season. It’s teased that Cassie will struggle with staying sober and I’m sure her ever loyal friend will be there in support.
It’s not surprising that Marshall will be reprising her role as Young Cassie. That means we’re probably getting flashbacks, which were heartbreaking in the first season. But they’ll be able to tell the story in a more effective way. And they’re definitely going to be needed since we’re meeting Cassie and Davey’s mother.
That brings us to the ew cast members for season 2:
- Sharon Stone as Lisa Bowden, Cassie’s estranged mother.
- Mo McRae as Benjamin Berry, a career CIA officer who may have a bad habit of getting a little too involved with his assets.
- Callie Hernandez as Gabrielle Diaz, a quick-tempered and calculating bounty hunter whose impulse control issues often get in the way of her job.
- JJ Soria Esteban Diaz, Gabrielle’s partner and lover who tries to keep a level head and stay focused on the job, but often gets just as heated as his girlfriend.
I’m excited to dive into the storyline with Cassie and her mom. With all the trauma from her dad, there’s bound to be some drama and hurt between the mother and daughter. An HBO Max press release describes the character as “after a lifetime of dealing with Cassie’s alcoholism, she no longer has any patience or goodwill to spare.”
Other guest stars this season include Cheryl Hines, Jessie Ennis, Mae Martin, Margaret Cho, Santiago Cabrera, and Shohreh Aghdashloo.
