When is the Young Sheldon season 5 finale?

Last week Young Sheldon promised a “shell-shocking” moment for its 100th episode, and it certainly delivered. Co-creator and showrunner Steve Moaro previously shared that big changes are coming that will take us through the rest of the season. And that’s definitely the case.

We guessed that an unplanned pregnancy storyline could be coming, and we were right. In last week’s episode, 17-year-old Georgie finally comes clean to his 29-year-old girlfriend Mandy about his age. It was easy to predict this was going to happen because it’s been established the two have been sexually active.

This is a really interesting storyline for Georgie and the show as a whole. We need to buckle in and get ready for the final stretch of Young Sheldon season 5 episodes. And that includes the finale. So when can we expect to see the episode?

When is the Young Sheldon season 5 finale?

The Young Sheldon season 5 finale will air Thursday, May 19 on CBS.

TVLine shared when CBS plans to air the finales for all its shows. Young Sheldon is one of five of the network’s scripted series to already be renewed. That’s right, we don’t have to worry about the story being cut short. The series has already been renewed for a sixth and seventh season. This isn’t really surprising since The Big Bang Theory prequel is one of CBS’ top-viewed shows.

For the finale, I am nervous about the elder George. We know his story is pretty much set in stone because of what we’ve been told on the parent series. He cheats on Mary, and will only be alive for a couple of more years if Young Sheldon follows The Big Bang Theory‘s timeline. I’m expecting two major cliffhangers for the season 5 finale. One is that Georgie may not tell his family the news right away and we end the episode with him coming clean. The second could be that George caves and takes that final step with Brenda.
