To celebrate FanSided’s 15-year anniversary, Hidden Remote is doing what it does best, looking back at some of our favorite movies and television shows. Now, we’ve already covered movies, so let’s move on to shows! In this post, we remember 15 of the best shows from the last 15 years. Did your favorite series make the list? Only one way to find out!

Can I start by saying that this list was not easy to put together! I tried to be unbiased, but many (okay, most) of my favorite series are on the list. However, I did also include many shows that I have never even watched, but that I know are immensely popular and with a large fanbase. That said, I did some research to see which shows have made the biggest impact on TV and also added some of my all-time favorite shows. Will you agree with my list? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, be sure to share what you do or don’t agree with! I’d love to know. Let’s begin.

The 15 best shows from the last 15 years

Please note that the shows below are in random order. I also tried to add some 2007 debuts and newer premieres. How many from this list have you seen? Again, here they are in no particular order:

Stranger Things

Stranger Things on Netflix changed the streaming platform for the better. It is one of the most popular shows in general and fans can’t get enough. Season 4 premieres on May 27, in the meantime, stream season 1-3 if you haven’t already!

Ted Lasso

I’m sure everyone is tired of hearing about Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ — well, at least those who have yet to see it. If you are one of the few who refuses to watch Ted Lasso, you’re missing out! Join us? It’s heartwarming, but doesn’t pull back any punches when it comes to some tough-hitting topics such as mental health. Season 3 is in the works, so stream seasons 1-2 on Apple TV+.

Lucifer

Lucifer is a wrap on Netflix, so if you are looking for a long binge, this is your go-to. Lucifans are one of the best fandoms and the reason why Lucifer lasted six beautiful seasons. The series was canceled by FOX, before Netflix gave it another chance and found it a loyal and dedicated fandom.

Homeland

Here’s one of the series I said I added due to knowing it’s popular, but not because I’m a fan. I’ve never watched Homeland before, but now I’m super curious and will be adding it to my to-watch list.

Game of Thrones

Who hasn’t heard of Game of Thrones before? It’s one of the best shows of all-time. Yes, this is true even if the final season didn’t live up to our expectations. It kept us on the edge of our seat week after week.

Downton Abbey

Another series I’ve never seen, I’m just not into period dramas. But hey, it has a strong fanbase  and has been running for six seasons, there’s even a movie coming this year.

The Walking Dead

Say what you want about AMC’s The Walking Dead, but that series became a phenomenon. It’s on its 11th (and final season), which is already a huge feat, but it also has spin-offs, some even still in the works!

Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy is near and dear to my heart. I didn’t watch this right away, it did take me a couple of seasons to be convinced to watch. Once I did, it was instant love. The story and characters were so intriguing to me. I just couldn’t look away. And what a finale! Not the way I wish things had gone, but no regrets on that wild ride.

Suits

As much as I tried, I could never get into Suits, but I know it’s super popular. Now that it is streaming on Peacock, I may give it a shot this summer.

Mad Men

Don’t hate me, but I’ve never watched Mad Men, the only series on this list, by the way, that premiere 15 years ago on 2007. All seasons are streaming on AMC+ and Amazon Prime Video, so maybe I’ll check it out this summer. Who wants to join my watch?

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad

Do I really need to explain what a brilliant series Breaking Bad is? I didn’t think so! It changed television forever and now we have its spin-off, Better Call Saul, carrying its legacy, though it is set to premiere the final season on April 14– we are not ready!

Dexter

I’m not sure if Dexter is my favorite show of all-time, but it’s definitely in my top 3. That said, I was so excited to watch Dexter: New Blood on Showtime, and despite all the hate it got, I actually enjoyed it! If you’re curious, stream the entire series on Hulu.

The Good Place

I did enjoy the first season of The Good Place, but I never got around to watchings season 2 and I did hear it’s not nearly as great as the first. Is it true? It’s streaming on Netflix, so I may just check it out.

Succession

Succession is an award-winning drama that is absolutely on my to-watch list, especially because it’s streaming on HBO Max, which is one of my favorite streaming platforms. Do you recommend it? It’s got a huge fanbase and critics can’t praise it enough!

Atlanta

I love Atlanta! The long wait for season 3 was tough! If you missed the news, Atlanta season 3 is now out! FX airs weekly episodes, but you can catch them on Hulu Premium, as well.

And there you have it! Our list of favorites! Which ones have you seen? Give is your list of the top 15 best shows from the last 15 years.
