Stranger Things season 4 synopsis

From the trailer, it is clear that the Hawkins gang will once again be facing the fearsome creatures from the Upside Down dimension, having only defeated a physical manifestation of the Mindflayer made of organic flesh and matter in season 3.

After struggling to get used to new lives (with Max losing her brother Billy, and Eleven and Will moving away from Hawkins for a fresh start) things feel very shaken up. Police Chief Hopper, originally presumed to be dead at the end of season 3’s finale episode, is revealed as very much alive in what looks to be a Russian complex, whilst Eleven and the Hawkins kids are drawn into more danger, needed to fight a “war” related to the Upside Down.

With everything from new monsters, explosive warfare, and powers from unexpected characters, Stranger Things season 4 is shaping up to be just as beloved as it has been since its 2016 inception.
