Survivor season 42 episode 7 power rankings
By Ricky Frech
The seventh episode of Survivor Season 42 didn’t have as many massive moments that fans will remember for years after the season finishes. Instead, we got a relatively simple boot that didn’t cause too many feathers to rustle. In some ways, we needed the comedown after the last few weeks. Plus, it means the remaining weeks should be that much more entertaining.
Without much happening, our power rankings didn’t need to change too much. That said, there are a few important movers and shakers that could be setting themselves up for a win. Let’s give it a look.
Survivor season 42 episode 7 power rankings
Out) Chanelle Howell (Last: 10) – Chanelle was obviously in trouble last week, so this is no real surprise. The second Tori Meehan won immunity, you almost knew Chanelle had no chance. She tried her best to turn things around, but her losing her vote has finally come back to bite her. Hopefully, the same doesn’t happen for Omar Zaheer fans down the line.
10) Tori Meehan (Last: 11) – Tori has needed immunity to stay in the game for two episodes in a row. Will that continue to be the case? Given how everyone is talking about her being chaotic, we tend to think so. That said, she’s bought herself quite a bit of time at this point. It’s very possible she could worm her way into an alliance if things keep breaking her way.
9) Rocksroy Bailey (Last: 9) – Rocksroy is still the biggest goat candidate of the season. Nothing has changed for him and we can’t imagine anything be different next week.
8) Jonathan Young (Last: 8) – If Jonathan makes it through the next two or three tribal councils, he’s going to be incredibly dangerous. He’s obviously a massive physical threat, which is going to come back into his favor as challenges get more physical. If you don’t want him at the end, you have to get rid of him before the game hits the final six or seven. Will his alliance keep him around too long?
7) Maryanne Oketch (Last: 7) – Maryanne might not have much in the way of an alliance at this point, but she does have an idol. On top of that, she’s in a good spot to be a number for someone from the majority alliance to make a move. Her game could easily turn on a dime over the next few weeks.
6) Romeo Escobar (Last: 4) – Romeo’s in a weird spot because he’s kind of in the majority alliance, but hasn’t been completely brought in. He needs to solidify some numbers over the next few weeks and take a stranglehold on the game before it gets away from him.
5) Lindsay Dolashewich (Last: 6) – Lindsay doesn’t get much screen time, but she’s playing a good social game and is well-placed strategically. We saw Erika Casupanan play a relatively quiet early game last year and win, so there’s precedence for Lindsay to seemingly come out of nowhere and pick up a victory. It’s still a bit early to predict that, but we would not be surprised.
4) Drea Wheeler (Last: 2) – These last four are nearly tied for us. It really is that close between them all. Drea certainly has the most hardware of anyone left in the game but hasn’t been as impressive socially. That doesn’t mean she can’t win. It just means other players are dominating that aspect. She needs to put all of her advantages to good use to make a splash for the jury.
3) Mike Turner (Last: 5) – Like Drea, Mike also has an idol. Of course, he doesn’t also have like eight other advantages. However, he has proven that he has the ability to connect with just about anybody. That makes him a massive threat as a potential winner and someone we’re keeping an eye on.
2) Omar Zaheer (Last: 3) – Like Varys in Game of Thrones, Omar is becoming a master of whispers. Everyone wants to get on his good side, which means he knows exactly what’s going on with nearly everyone in the tribe. That’s a great spot to be midway through the game.
1) Hai Giang (Last: 1) – Hai didn’t have a standout week or anything. Like the episode, it was pretty standard fare for our top player. However, until something changes, we think he’s playing a phenomenal social and strategic game. It’s getting harder and harder to not see him in the finals.
