CW shows canceled too soon

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a show you love, no matter the circumstances. Even with those lucky few that get to end their run with a final season, it can still sometimes feel like a story is ending far sooner than it should have and saying goodbye to the characters we’ve fallen in love with seems impossible to do.

Then there are the shows which are canceled without ever getting the chance to bid fans a proper goodbye. These are most often the ones that fans carry with them for years after the show has ended, thinking of unfinished storylines and what could have been.

With the recent cancellation of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman, we’re looking back at more canceled CW shows that we still regularly mourn

9.  Legends of Tomorrow

When news of Legends of Tomorrow‘s cancellation broke, I was literally sick to my stomach as the show and its amazing cast deserved so much better and there is no reason we shouldn’t have received a final season to bring the Legends stories to a proper end.

From the very beginning, Legends of Tomorrow was written off by many but defied the odds to become the little show that could. Sure, we accept that the first season wasn’t the strongest, but once the show stopped taking itself so seriously in season 2 it truly evolved into something magical.

As our colleagues over at Bam Smack Pow so eloquently put it, “That first season needed to play out as it did so that Legends could truly find its groove in the second. And find its groove it did, as this group of outcasts and misfits produced what was without question (along with the third season) its very best season – and arguably the greatest season in the Arrowverse that year.”

As the years went by there were some ups and downs but Legends never waivered in celebrating diversity through its loveable band of misfits. The series proved that you didn’t have to have superhuman abilities to be a Legend, you just needed heart, bravery and a desire to make a positive change in the world.

And that’s precisely what the series did right up until its untimely cancellation. Legends will forever be remembered as a series that changed the face of the superhero genre for the better. It’s just a shame the Legends weren’t shown the same respect and given the chance to go out with what we’re sure would have been an amazing final season.
