MasterChef: Back to Win premiere date, chefs, judges, trailer and more
By Sabrina Reed
MasterChef returns for its twelfth season at the end of May! Titled MasterChef: Back to Win, this will be the cooking competition’s first All-Star iteration as the chefs competing have all been featured on MasterChef before and are considered to be some of the most talented and memorable chefs in the history of the competition.
The contestants will be vying for the coveted MasterChef title, a state-of-the-art kitchen from Viking, and a $250,000 dollar grand prize. They’ll do this through a series of challenges that have been described as the toughest the competition has seen. The chefs will also be held to a higher standard of culinary skill than in previous seasons.
This year’s challenges include feeding cowboys in Norco, California (also known as Horsetown USA), demonstrating range in preparing a vegan dish, making a meal for members of the Coast Guard, and the fan-favorite restaurant takeover challenge. The chefs will be taking over Wolfgang Puck’s Spago restaurant.
MasterChef fans are in for more than a treat with this new season. Here’s more on the All-Stars competition!

Who are the MasterChef: Back to Win judges?
Unlike So You Think You Can Dance season 17, there are no shake-ups on MasterChef‘s judges panel. Season 12 will see the return of chef and host Gordon Ramsay, chef Aarón Sánchez and restaurateur Joe Bastianic.
MasterChef: Back to Win chefs
There will be total of 20 chefs in the competition, two of which are MasterChef Junior alums who will be competing as adults. We expect some nostalgia from the two contestants and Ramsey as they venture into the high pressure environment of the adult competition.
