Was Stargirl cancelled? (Will the CW series get a season 3?)

It’s cancellation season, folks! This means we are in for a rollercoaster of emotions. While some shows receive renewals for another season (sometimes two), many other fan favorites are being cancelled. And no network has been more cruel than the CW. Was Stargirl among the cancelled shows at the CW? Here’s what we know so far!

Earlier this year, the CW gave Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow the boot. It was a sad day for DC superhero fans. And, unfortunately, the CW was not done breaking hearts. The network returned on May 12, 2022, to join other major networks (such as NBC and CBS) in a bloodbath of cancellations. Where does Stargirl stand?

Was Stargirl cancelled?

As we previously reported in our CW renewals and cancellations report,  Stargirl‘s fate is still not known. It is the only CW series still on the bubble. Will it get another season? Perhaps (hopefully), at least one final season to properly wrap the story? Our fingers are crossed! However, it’s not looking good.

The CW has already cancelled Batwoman, Charmed, Dynasty, In the Dark, Legacies, Legends of Tomorrow, Naomi, Roswell, New Mexico, and 4400. We told you the network has been brutal. I would hate to see Stargirl cancelled, but look at the numbers! The odds are not in the show’s favor.

From the CW’s cancellations so far, I have to say that Dynasty hurts the most. I joined as fan recently and was truly hoping for more episodes. Fans of In the Dark and Roswell, New Mexico do still have new episodes to look forward to as their fourth seasons have not yet aired. In the Dark season 4 and Roswell, New Mexico season 4 are set to premiere on Monday, June 6.
