Will Tyler Hoechlin return as Derek in the Teen Wolf movie?

From the moment Paramount+ announced its plans to reunite the Teen Wolf cast for a Teen Wolf movie, fans have been anxiously waiting to see if their favorite actors would be returning to Beacon Hills for the next chapter in the franchise’s history.

Among the many cast members fans have been hoping to see back for the upcoming Teen Wolf movie, is original cast member Tyler Hoechlin.

Across the show’s six seasons, Hoechlin starred as Derek Hale, the rough-around-the-edges werewolf who turned Scott and became one of his greatest mentors and allies over the years. Derek was a fan favorite and key aspect of the cast, which is why fans have been eager to know if Hoechiln would make his return alongside his former castmates for the upcoming Paramount+ movie.

After months of guessing, we finally know for sure and we have a feeling fans are going to like the news we have to share!

Will Tyler Hoechlin be in the Teen Wolf movie?

As announced by Paramount+ on May 13, Tyler Hoechlin will return as Derk Hale for the streamer’s highly anticipated Teen Wolf movie! While his role in the film remains unclear, Hoechilin’s return is sure to excite fans who were concerned that the actor might not be able to appear due to his lead role in Superman & Lois. 

Hoechlin joins a growing cast list that also includes Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig, Crystal Reed, Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne, Colton Haynes, Ryan Kelley, Melissa Ponzio, Ian Bohen, Vince Mattis, Nobi Nakanishi, Khylin Rhambo, Amy Workman and  Dylan Sprayberry.

While we will see Hoechilin return as Derek in the Teen Wolf movie, it remains to be seen whether Sterek fans will get any more iconic moments as Dylan O’Brien is not currently attached to reprise his role as Stiles — though we continue to hold out hope that he might make a surprise appearance!
