May 13 weekend movies: Every new movie in theaters (and streaming) this weekend
It’s the freakin weekend, baby, let’s have some fun! Below, we share the best new movies to watch in theaters and films available on streaming services that you won’t want to miss.
The following weekend tends to be a little light when you have a movie as big as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hit theaters. Studios understand that even on a second weekend, consumers flock to see the film for a second time or even their first. But just because it’s a light weekend at the movie theater doesn’t mean we don’t have films coming out that you should see.
New movies to watch in theaters and streaming
- Family Camp, Theaters
- Firestarter, Theaters/Peacock
- On the Count of Three, Theaters/Digital
- Senior Year, Netflix
- Sneakerella, Disney+
- Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Know, HBO
I will stand at the top of the tallest mountain in this world and scream for all of you to check out my favorite movie of the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, On the Count of Three. I love, love, and love this film so much that Jerrod Carmichael, with his full feature directorial debut, knocked it out of the ballpark. The film stars Carmichael and Christopher Abbot about two guns, two best friends and they make a pact to end their lives when the day is over. The movie is funny, heartfelt and tackles mental health beautifully. WATCH THIS MOVIE, PLEASE.
A couple of movies are hitting streaming, starting with Senior Year, which stars Rebel Wilson in her first movie since 2019 (Cats). Next, we have Zac Efron star in the Stephen King adaptation Firestarter, which is having a dual release and on Disney+, we have a new take on Cinderella in Sneakerella.
Personal Recommendation of the weekend: If you are looking for a laugh this weekend, look no further than the Nashville Dads Club. Season 2 of the series is wrapping on Youtube on 05/19 and it is hilarious! You can check out all episodes from Season 2 here (Also bing Season 1).
What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
