Prime Video is set to hit a space-like atmosphere with their upcoming series Night Sky. We had the pleasure of sitting down with a few stars to talk about their upcoming roles in the series.

Night Sky follows Irene (Sissy Spacek) and Franklin (J.K. Simmons) York, a couple who discovered a chamber buried in the backyard that leads to a deserted planet. As they’ve kept the secret to themselves, one night, a young man enters their lives and flips their world upside down resulting in their secret being on the verge of getting out.

Having seen Night Sky, I have been quite impressed with the world-building in the series. From the first episode, we fall in love with Irene and Franklin. The pair have been married for over 50 years, and the chemistry that J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek share in the roles of Franklin and Irene makes you feel every bit of that marriage. Next, as we reach the closing moments of episode one, you are thrown for a complete loop and the series never looks back.

Hidden Remote sat down with J.K. Simmons, Sissy Spacek, Chai Hansen, Adam Bartley, and Kiah McKirnan about their roles in the upcoming Prime Video series, Night Sky.

Check out the video version of the interview here and here.

Night Sky cast talks about their roles in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series

HR: Sissy, The relationship between Irene and Frankling is the foundation of the series, how do you approach a role when working with someone else?

Sissy Spacek: For me, I have a long marriage. And I drew from that and I know working on a project with J.K., he’s just like always prepared, creative, and imaginative, and a wonderful acting partner. I couldn’t ask for a better acting partner than J.K. Simmons.

J.K. Simmons: Well, right back atcha. Thank you.

Hidden Remote: J.K., What attracted you to the role of Franklin?

Simmons: Honestly, it was Sissy. It was really two things. I knew Sissy, and she was already attached. And so I was excited at the prospect of working with her and then and then once I read the script and saw how wonderful Holden Miller’s work was, it was a no-brainer.

HR: Kiah, What attracted you to the role of Jude?

Kiah McKirnan: When I read the first pilot script, I was really hooked on the series in general, but honestly plainly enough, Denise is a grad student living in Chicago. I am from Chicago, and I was living in Chicago. And so when you get those, like little context clues in an audition, like right off the bat, you feel super comfortable, because you’re like, oh, I could totally do this.

HR: Adam, What attracted you to the role of Byron?

Adam Bartley: You get these roles that come to you and this is me. I am supposed to play this guy. That was Byron for sure straight away. Funny, in the script I read before I auditioned, there is this scene a woman says ‘shave your beard’ in the story. I remember at the time, I had a beard, a lovely full beard already and I was like, this is a sign. It is all meant to be. Byron was a beautiful character to play.

HR: Chai, Jude has a lot of mystery surrounding his character, how did you kind of prepare for this role?

Chai Hansen: So it was quite kind of difficult, because initially when I first read the script, like, I didn’t know who he was. And then as you read on you see, you know, more and more about him and where he comes from, and stuff like that. So I think the most important thing that I needed to do was read the scripts, and get a good understanding of his background. And once I did that, then I can start to fill in the blanks a bit more. But it was definitely a challenge.

Next. Will there be a season 2 of Outer Range?. dark
