If you’re tired of hearing about Armie Hammer, welcome to the club! Now, close your ears and shut your eyes, because we’re about to get more Armie Hammer than we asked for in a special to premiere on Discovery+. Here are all the details we have so far (to be updated as we learn more).
During the company’s Upfront presentation, it was announced that ID and Discovery+ have a slate of upcoming true crime series, including Disappeared, Who The (Bleep) Did I Marry?, and House of Hammer, to focus on Armie Hammer’s alleged crimes. Additionally, the network will also premiere Gabby Petito: An ID Murder Mystery special and six other new specials.
Fans of true crime couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming slate for the 2022-2023 upfront season, but we do all have mixed feelings about the Armie Hammer special. It’s a controversial move from the network.
Armie Hammer special to premiere on Discovery+
House of Hammer, which is noted to not be the official title of the special so this could change, will investigate the actor’s alleged crimes, including sexual abuse allegations and cannibalism, which cost him many projects and saw him fired from multiple movies. In a statement, ID and Discovery+ shared that audiences will see the “dark” and “twisted legacy” of the Hammer family. It looks like there are a lot of details we do not know about. The special will be examining not only Armie Hammer’s alleged crimes, but scandals that have surrounded the family over the course of five generations. Will you be watching?
No premiere date has been set for House of Hammer, but it is teased to come later this year. As soon as we have more details, including an official title for the special, we will update this post with all you need to know.
