Lizzo documentary to premiere on HBO Max

We’re going to see just how “good as hell” Lizzo is in her new HBO Max documentary this fall. The global superstar announced the news at the Warner Bros. Discover Upfront presentation.

The Upfronts event is when major players gather to present their programming plans for the upcoming television season. Lizzo announced the project from the stage of the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation. on May 18.

The film is directed by Doug Pray, and produced by Kevin Beisler, Kevin Weaver, Ryan Kroft, and Nicole Rocklin. Lizzo is also executive producing.

The untitled project will focus on the Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, rapper, and flutist to show how she makes history shifting the sound, soul, and spirit of popular music and culture all while balancing the challenges of life, love and stardom.

The documentary coming out in just a few months will tell the “inspirational story” behind the star’s beginnings to her “meteoric rise” with a closer look into the moments that shaped her rise to fame, success, love, and international stardom.

We are so excited for Lizzo! The celebrity has certainly been an inspiration and she deserves all the success and recognition she’s receiving. At the Upfronts, the “Truth Hurts” singer said it takes years to become an “overnight success”, and she hopes her story will inspire other young creatives to not give up just like her.

It’s been a busy time for Lizzo as she recently debuted her Amazon Prime Video original series, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls. The competition show focuses on the singer’s hunt for confident, talented women who will join her as back up dancers on her 2022 world tour.
