Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth is yet another animated title coming to HBO Max very soon.
The upcoming title comes from the hands of Greg Daniels, Mike Judge, Michael Koman, and The Dictator actor Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen will also lend his voice as a narrator, which is all the more reason why fans are highly anticipating the release.
Although an official release date for the original has not yet been announced, we did get word on the unique story Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth will tell.

Variety reports this upcoming HBO Max original will dive into Cohen and his team’s perception of the many Yiddish folklore they know and love.
Some of these tales are too outlandish to be true, while some still fill hearts with fear. Some stories were birthed in more modern generations, while others have origins dating back centuries. No matter which Yiddish stories you have or have not heard, Cohen and his team are on a mission to bring forth the best of the best. And, you can bet they’re going to put a hilarious twist on these folktales!
In addition to the types of stories that will be told, Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth is confirmed to be set in a place called “Town of Fools”. This is a location very well known to those who grew up on Yiddish fables.
As for the people who will voice the characters unlucky enough to be made into a cautionary tale, this is not yet known. However, we’re sure we will receive this information soon enough.
