Mrs. American Pie cast
Deadline reports the cast of Mrs. American Pie is still getting better and better each day!
Just recently, Grammy Award winner Ricky Martin is confirmed to star in the series. He will play the lead role of Robert alongside Saturday Night Live actress Kristen Wiig who will be playing the female lead role of Maxine Simmons. Josh Lucas will play her husband, Douglas.
Allison Janney and Leslie Bibb are confirmed to be featured in the Apple TV+ original series, too. Janney will play the role of Evelyn, a woman who is described as a “member of the high society, while Bibb will play Dinah, a “lovely, but vulnerable member of the high society.”
Big Little Lies actress Laura Dern is in talks to play the “key role” in Mrs. American Pie. Her role is not yet known to us. However, we know Dern, along with Abe Sylvia and Tate Taylor, are the masterminds at work, so whatever role she is set to play we’re positive it will be an interesting one.
Mrs. American Pie synopsis
Inspired by Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel, Mrs. American Pie dives into the various lives of a wealthy, prestigious group living in Palm Beach. To an outsider, these individuals are the elite of the elite, hence why Maxine Simmons wants in. But it will take a lot more than desire to fit in with this gang.
The full synopsis via Deadline is below:
"Mrs. American Pie is set during the powderkeg era of the early 1970s and follows Maxine Simmons and her attempt to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have nots, the series asks the same questions that baffle us today: Who gets a seat at the table, how do you get a seat at the table, and what will you sacrifice to get there?"
Mrs. American Pie is currently in pre-production, so it may be some time before we receive both an official trailer and release date for the upcoming Apple TV+ original.
