Did you really think you were going to see the best movies of all time from me and not have a Fast and Furious movie on it? You are crazy, because Fast Five is one of the greatest action movies ever.
Fast Five follows Dominic Toretto and the family are planning the biggest heist of all time until one man, a federal agent in Hobbs, makes it his mission to take down the family. A franchise on the mend with some good but not great numbers at the box office needed a fresh boost of swagger and it delivered with the first appearance of The Rock in the franchise.
I would also like to take this moment to tell Vin Diesel and The Rock to please mend your relationship as this franchise is nothing without either of you. I would love to see Hobbs and Dominic on the screen together one last time before we ride off in the sunset. It doesn’t look likely to happen, but let’s put the egos aside and give the fans what they want.
Justin Lin delivered a solid direction in his return to the franchise in Fast and Furious, however, what he brought to the table in Fast Five was some of the most creative insane action direction sequences we have seen to date. For example, the final heist that leads into a chase scene was so damn cool and never gets old.
Hobbs vs. Dominic was a force to be reckoned with in this film and Diesel and The Rock were two monsters battling out to see who would end up on top. I loved every second of it and this film is damn good.
