Fans should be thrilled with the recent announcements from Star Wars Celebration. This is especially true for anyone with “younglings” in their families as Young Jedi Adventures is coming to the small screen. This is an important announcement as this series will air on Disney+ and Disney Junior, so more people will have an opportunity to watch.

In addition to Young Jedi Adventures, news also broke about Tales of the Jedi, which is another animated series set to appear on Disney+. The biggest contrast between the two series will be their overall lengths. Tales of the Jedi will be a six-part animated short series, while Young Jedi Adventures will have a much larger presence.

Announced at Star Wars Celebration, Young Jedi Adventures is going to be “the first full-length animated Star Wars series created for preschoolers, early grade schoolers, and their families.” Parents and kids will be excited at the prospect of seeing young Jedi training to be the best they can be as they aspire to become Jedi Knights.

When does Young Jedi Adventures premiere?

Young Jedi Adventures won’t hit your television screens this year, but it’s not much longer you’ll have to wait. The animated series will be “coming to Disney+ and Disney Junior in the spring of 2023.” Given what the show will present within each episode, it’s safe to say it will be worth the wait.

Stories are a valuable tool for kids to learn important life lessons, which has been highlighted in the show’s announcement. Young Jedi Adventures will not only get training to become Jedi, they (and viewers) will face “topics of compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship.” The series will also be set hundreds of years prior to the prequel films in the “High Republic” era, which will allow fans to dive into stories from other mediums if they haven’t already.

Whether or not you’ll be looking forward to this animated series, it’s clear Star Wars will continue to be a positive gateway for families to introduce beloved characters and important themes as fans younger and older continue to look for hope in a galaxy far, far away.
