America’s Got Talent is one of the funnest competition shows on network television. It not only showcases one skill, but so many! From singing, to dancing, to magic, and so much more. The series is always entertaining the audience and bringing in fresh, new talent no matter their age or background.

What also makes it so successful is the chemistry on the star-studded judges panel. Season 17 brings back Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell. Terry Crews also returns as host. The winner of the season will walk away with a big cash prize – $1 million!

We’ve seen some of the new aspiring performers when this year’s installment of the NBC series premiered on May 31. We’re still in the audition process. One thing viewers look forward to is voting for their favorites later on in the season.

During the audition and Judges Cuts rounds, it’s up to the judges who moves forward in the competition. Contestants need to receive at least three approvals from the judges to continue on to the next round. Each judge, as well as Crews, also has the opportunity to press the Golden Buzzer once during auditions. This sends the act directly to the live shows.

Once the live shows begin, the fates of the aspiring performers are in the hands of the audience at home. This year’s live shows begin on Aug. 9, according to NBC Insider. You can choose your favorites by voting for the act through NBC.com or on the AGT App.

The live shows of the NBC series air weekly on Tuesday nights, with the results airing the next day on Wednesdays. America’s Got Talent episodes are broadcast weekly at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Episodes are also available to stream on Peacock the next day.
