Famed UK comedian Peter Kay is slowly but surely making his way back into the spotlight and fans could not be more excited.

The 48-year-old celeb is best known for his many TV shows, including That Peter Kay Thing, Peter Kay’s Car Share, and Peter Kay’s Comedy Shuffle. He’s also a well-known stand-up performer, which made it all the sadder when he decided to cancel his tour back in 2017. Fans were all concerned for Kay, who shared that he’d be stepping out of the spotlight for “unforeseen family circumstances.” After that, it was a rare occasion when fans would hear any updates about the funnyman.

Peter Kay reportedly set to return to stand-up

Well, we come with great news as it’s been reported that Kay is coming back for a new tour in 2023! Get your calendars and credit cards ready because this is not going to be something you’ll want to miss out on. According to Wales Online, the comedian is allegedly planning to announce a few upcoming shows this fall, with a source explaining to Birmingham Live:

"“He has lined up huge venues across the country including in Manchester, London and Birmingham and is hoping to announce it in September. Peter has not performed a live stand-up set on a big stage in well over a decade now but he could not be more ready to get back out there.”"

If this all goes as planned, fans of Kay will no doubt be ecstatic to go see him perform once again. Though he never quite explained what occurred that made him cancel his gigs years ago, many have speculated that he wanted to take more time away from the cameras to be with his family and be a more present dad and husband.

Despite not picking up new gigs in the past few years, however, Peter Kay is still extremely wealthy. As we previously reported, he’s got a net worth of $70 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, which no doubt allows him to take off work whenever he pleases.

We’re so excited to hear that Peter Kay is planning new stand-up shows and will keep you updated with any news about this potential tour!
