4. Frank Gallagher in Shameless

Frank Gallagher is just one of the worst characters of all time and not just one of the worst TV dads. It all comes down to how he is the title of the show. Everything he does is enough to make us cringe and wish better for his children.

Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that any of his children could grow up well. Yet, some of them did—although it wasn’t easy. Some of them had to completely get away from their dad just to escape the damage.

What made Frank so bad is that he never really cared. He used his children to gain benefits and boost his look when children could help. Other than that, they were left to fend for themselves, and he wasn’t exactly apologetic for it.

3. Don Draper in Mad Men

There are a lot of selfish TV dads. The one that makes our list of worst TV dads of all time as to be Don Draper in Mad Men. He didn’t exactly do anything dangerous, but sometimes, it was easy to forget that he even had children.

This was a man who made it clear only he mattered. He would do what was necessary to make himself happy and to boost his own career. If it meant missing birthdays and other important moments, that was okay to him.

Sadly, Don is the view of many men in his position. They think bringing home a paycheck is all that’s necessary to provide for their families; that makes them a good dad. Well, not anymore!
