Matt LeBlanc wanted to fight Matthew Perry during Friends days, according to actor’s father
Ahead of the release of Matthew Perry’s upcoming memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, more and more is coming out about the actor’s time on the long-running sitcom Friends, along with some alleged dirt on his famous co-stars. Though Perry himself hasn’t shared too many details about the book, sources have said that he’s “not going to pull any punches” in this tell-all.
Reports have since claimed that one major part of Perry’s book will be about his alleged feud with Friends castmate Matt LeBlanc. Although their characters on the show, Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani, are thick as thieves, the same reportedly could not be said about the two actors while they were filming. This rumor started spreading earlier this year, claiming Perry and the other stars were angry that LeBlanc agreed to do his own spin-off show after Friends ended, Joey.
Matt LeBlanc’s dad spoke out on Matthew Perry feud
Now, Movie Web has uncovered an older interview (per The Things) in which Matt LeBlanc’s father Paul LeBlanc actually suggested there was a feud brewing between the two actors. In a 2015 interview with Radar Online, Paul LeBlanc spilled some tea about his son’s time on the comedy. Apparently, Matt LeBlanc thought Perry was an “a*****e,” even going as far as claiming that LeBlanc wanted to fight Perry.
“He wanted to pound on Matthew a couple of times,” Paul LeBlanc said.
Elsewhere in this interview, Paul LeBlanc shared a few other shocking things, including a claim that Matt LeBlanc and Jennifer Aniston had a romantic relationship while filming Friends. “They would make out in the dressing rooms. He told me about it, it was when she was married to Brad Pitt,” Paul LeBlanc alleged.
It’s important to note that Paul LeBlanc did this interview after having a falling out with his son, so it’s entirely possible that he made up some of these claims out of spite. While a rep for Aniston
she ever hooked up with Matt LeBlanc, the truth behind the rumors about LeBlanc and Perry’s failed friendship is a little bit less clear.
We only have a few months left until we can get our hands on Perry’s memoir to know for sure what details he’ll spill. Many
Friends
fans believe there was no feud at all, while others are waiting to pick up the book to find out themselves.
