Tom Swift, the latest series to make its debut on The CW, is a spin-off of the popular live-action Nancy Drew. Set a couple of years after fans were introduced to Tom Swift in season 2, episode 15 of Nancy’s show, Tom’s series brings us back into his life at a pivotal moment.

He and his father, Barton, are just days away from accomplishing a shared dream. A mission to Saturn. The Swift men don’t see eye-to-eye on much, but they both believe in their ability to do what no one has done before them.

The premiere then fast forwards to the day Barton is set to check-in during his Saturn mission but something goes horribly wrong and it seems as if he’s died in an explosion. However, as Tom discovers, more is at play here than he was aware of.

With his father’s life hanging in the balance, he sets off on his own mission to bring him home. But, his task won’t be easy. There’s a secret society called The Road Back who have nefarious plans not only for the Swifts but other brilliant minds progressing humanity past what this society believes it should.

The latest episodes of Tom Swift are available to stream on Wednesdays on cwtv.com and the CW App after it airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW. The show’s streaming home after the season finale will likely be HBO Max. That’s where its parent show, Nancy Drew, streams once new seasons finish airing on The CW.
