Will there be a season 2 of Dance Dance Danseur?

At the end of Dance Dance Danseur, we were blown away by Junpei’s grit and determination to become better at classical ballet. However, we were especially blown away by the road it took for him to get there.

The naïve student went from an individual who embarrassingly knew nothing about the craft to someone willing to push the limits of his body to become one of the best dancers to ever exist. He navigated the highs and lows of being a newcomer flawlessly, and because of this, many fans look to him as a source of encouragement.

In addition to this, Junpei’s story of love and loss is what drew many to this anime, for his gripes with first love and first heartbreak were depicted in such a raw and genuine way. (It was almost impossible not to cry for him!)

Having both the anime’s riveting story and the overall characterization of Junpei in mind, we believe it would be preposterous for this series not to be renewed for a second season. But, truly, what are our chances of receiving a sophomore season? We tell you everything we know so far below.

Dance Dance Danseur season 2 updates

Today, there is no confirmation that Dance Dance Danseur will return with a second season in the future. Even still, we are remaining optimistic that fans will get to see Junpei once more.

Our reason for our positive attitude is due to the fact that the original source material is continuing to this very day. George Asakura’s masterpiece is currently on Volume 23 and is showing no signs of slowing anytime soon, so we don’t have to worry about season 2 not having enough material to adapt.

Also, we’re choosing to believe Junpei’s leap at the end of season 1 was hinting that his story is not finished just yet—that MAPPA is already in the beginning stages of mapping out where his journey will continue.

Of course, our predictions are only hopeful wishes as the animation studio has yet to make any announcements surrounding the future of the 2022 anime. However, being that the season 1 finale was somewhat of an open ending, we’re confident that this isn’t the end.
