In last year or two, there have been multiple movies with plots related to the “multiverse.” The Marvel Cinematic Universe recently released two big blockbusters that use the term, “multiverse.” In their plot, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Homeboth were praised by critics and audiences.

However, not all films or series that use this concept are able to execute it well. Below, we take a look at five movie and TV projects that really used the multiverse aspect well and are great films.

5 must-watch shows and movies that involve multiverse

1. Everything Everywhere All At Once

Rating: 9.8/10
Synopsis: “An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led.”

This new A24 movie took everyone by surprise. It clearly is the best one out of all multiverse movies or shows. It is very unpredictable, feels real, makes you feel for the characters and still manages to use multiverse to a level never done before. Though, it wouldn’t have been so great if the creators didn’t put so much effort in every shot, frame, editing, writing and the plot. Not only is Everything Everywhere All At Once the best project on this list, but it is definitely one of the best movies of all time. A must watch!

2. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Rating: 8/10
Synopsis: “Doctor Strange teams up with a mysterious teenage girl from his dreams who can travel across multiverses, to battle multiple threats, including other-universe versions of himself, which threaten to wipe out millions across the multiverse. They seek help from Wanda the Scarlet Witch, Wong and others.”

Doctor Strange 2 is another very recent movie. First of all, this movie uses its multiverse aspects of the plot much better than No Way Home. This genre can get boring very fast, but there’s at least the artistic style to enjoy. This might not be as good as some others on the list, but it is still worth watching.

3. Rick And Morty

Rating: 9.2/10
Synopsis: “An animated series that follows the exploits of a super scientist and his not-so-bright grandson.”

We can’t forget about Rick and Morty while talking about multiverse. The main plot of the series is not about the multiverse, but there are a lot of episodes that involve these elements, and it’s some of the best, too. Rick and Morty is a very clever show, and it’s more than just a weird sci-fi comedy, animated series.

4. Loki

Rating: 8.5/10
Synopsis: “The mercurial villain Loki resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame.”

While not everyone enjoyed Loki on Disney+, a lot of people still call it the best MCU show (if we exclude Daredevil, of course). There’s no denying that this show has incredible set pieces and it knows what it’s doing with its plot.

5. Justice League : Flashpoint Paradox

Rating: 9/10
Synopsis: “The Flash finds himself in a war torn between an alternate timeline. The hero teams up with alternate versions of his fellow heroes to return home and restore the timeline.”

This movie is an adaptation from the New 52 storyline and is part of DCAU. This is definitely one of the more popular and mainstream Flash stories. If you have knowledge about Justice League, Batman, and Flash, this movie is definitely a must-watch. The Flash tries to prevent his mother’s death in past, but it ends up changing his entire universe.

6. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Rating: 9/10
Synopsis: “Teen Miles Morales becomes the Spider-Man of his universe, and must join with five other spider-powered individuals from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities.”

When talking about multiverse movies, we definitely can’t forget about this one. Into The Spider-Verse is the best one out of all Marvel shows and movies. It’s mostly a Miles Morales story, but weaves the multiverse elements in its story very well.

From the movies and shows on this list, which is your favorite? Did we forget any great projects?
