What is The Real Love Boat about on CBS?

The Real Love Boat is inspired by the ’70s scripted series, The Love Boat, that used Princess Cruises ships as its setting. The romantic drama/comedy was on the air for nine seasons, with its last episode broadcast in 1986. The series revolved around the ship’s captain and a handful of his crew having romantic and humorous adventures.

Now CBS is helping contestants fall in love as they sail the Mediterranean on a luxury cruise ship. Destination dates, challenges, and surprise singles will test the couples’ compatibility and chemistry.

The crew members, captain, and cruise director will also play pivotal roles in matchmaking and helping contestants navigate the romantic and turbulent waters ahead. After a month out at sea, one winning couple will take home a cash prize and a once in a lifetime trip on Princess Cruises.
