Deadline reports Succession season 4 has officially commenced filming, and you’re going to want to know the inside scoop on what’s to come in this new season.

The last time we saw the HBO Max original, we were taken aback by Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) decision to sell his company, Waystar Royco, despite the desperate pleas of his children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Siobhan (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin).

We were also left wondering what would become of family members’ respective relationships, especially since most of their marriages were either in the gutter or broken apart by infidelity. And, of course, in the heart of all this chaos is the continued power struggle within this family, as only one Roy child can be the true successor of Waystar Royco after Logan’s eventual passing.

The tensions of the third season certainly rose to a degree no one was expecting, hence why it went on to be praised by critics and audiences alike. But, is the same acclaim due for the upcoming season? There’s a good chance it is.

Succession season 4 plot summary

Continuing from where season 3 left off, Succession will journey Logan Roy’s sudden decision and will depict whether he chose to sell Waystar Royco to Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard), or if Kendall, Siobhan, and Roman were able to put a pin in their father’s plans—even if only for a moment.

Check out the official plot summary for Succession season 4 below:

"The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed."

Perhaps the kids will succeed in their case. Perhaps not. All we know is that Logan Roy is a ruthless king who isn’t letting go of his empire without a fight. (Too bad he created just as ruthless kids.)

Only time will tell what will become of the Roy family ahead of this shocking betrayal, so be sure to stay tuned for more information about Succession season 4, including its release date.
