Who won Celebrity Family Feud tonight? (July 10)
By Sabrina Reed
In the premiere of this season’s Celebrity Family Feud, fans of the franchises were treated to a friendly, competitive clash between the cast of Abbott Elementary and Hacks, two critically acclaimed series. Also on Quinta Brunson’s team was Ms. Joyce Abbott, Brunson’s sixth grade teacher, who is the inspiration behind her show.
The hour also included a match between actress Erika Christensen and her family versus actor and educator Kal Penn and his. As is typical of this iteration of Family Feud, competitors were vying for money to donate to their respective charities. Here’s the list:
Team Abbott Elementary – Donors Choose, a charity that helps teachers fund their classrooms/projects through crowdfunding.
Team Hacks – Feeding America, the largest hunger relief charity in the U.S. The organization ensures equitable access to nutrient-rich food to those in partnership with food banks, supporters, communities, and policy makers.
Team Christensen – The Cameron Heyward Foundation, a charity that works closely with youth with literacy programs, donations, and mentoring.
Team Penn Station – Baby2Baby, a charity that provides necessities for children living in poverty including diapers, formula, clothing, etc.
Who won? Here’s what we know!
Who won Celebrity Family Feud tonight?
Game 1
Team Abbott Elementary and Team Hacks went up against one another. It seemed like Team Abbott Elementary might pull out a win and go to the Fast Money Round, but they got tripped up by a question in a critical round and lost to Team Hacks. But, since this is Celebrity Family Feud, they still walked away with a donation for Donors Choose.
Team Hacks was able to pull off a win in the Fast Money Round, coming in at 232 points after Jean Smart and Christopher McDonald successfully racked up enough points to clinch their $25,000 victory for Feeding America.
Game 2
In the next game, Team Penn Station and Team Christensen went head-to-head. Team Christensen was on a winning streak, but in Family Feud, the team that’s behind can win the whole game when the points are doubled or tripled.
That’s how Team Penn Station pulled ahead at the last minute which means Team Christensen lost their chance to win the $25,000 prize, but they’ll still be receiving a donation to the Cameron Heyward Foundation.
In the Fast Money round, Christina Freeman Modio nearly brought home the win with 181 points. Kal Penn only needed to score 19 to claim victory. Thankfully, his first answer was the number one choice because his latter answers were hilariously bad. With the win firmly in hand, Team Penn Station received $25,000 dollars for Baby2Baby.
