What is soap opera Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem about?

For over 50 years, Days of Our Lives on NBC has brought with it drama, unexpected twists, heartwarming moments, and everything else in between. I mean that’s what one can expect from a soap opera! Now, the company is bringing us the next installment in its spin-off, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.

The soap opera limited series first premiered on Peacock in September 2021 with five episodes. Now it’s back with another five in Beyond Salem: Chapter 2. The season premiered on the streamer on July 11, 2022 and will run daily, with the last episode released on July 15.

The second season sees the return of fan-favorite super couple Bo and Hope, played by Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell. The cast also includes Deidre Hall as Dr. Marlena Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Stephen Nichols as Steve “Patch” Johnson, Mary Beth Evans as Kayla Brady Johnson, Lucas Adams as Tripp Johnson, Camila Banus as Gabi Hernandez, Victoria Konefal as Ciara Brady, Robert Scott Wilson as Ben Weston, and Remington Hoffman as Li Shin.

In this next chapter, we’re going outside of Salem as the title suggests. According to a press release, the five new episodes will span the entire globe, from Monte Carlo to Hong Kong. The characters will “trade the comforts of home” for an epic adventure.

Heartwarming family reunions take place. Hope finally meets her grandson when Ciara and Ben visit her in Montreal where she’s been living for the past two years. Bo watches over his wife from heaven. But, with the sweet moments come dangerous ones as a mysterious adversary wrecks havoc on their lives. That may have to do with the mysterious man who takes Steve and John captive for Megan Hathaway, Stefano DiMera’s daughter.
