After several light weeks of films, we have a jam-packed slate for you this weekend. Below, we share the best new movies to watch in theaters and films that are available on streaming services that you won’t want to miss.

There are weeks like the last two where huge films come out and streaming services and studios like to take a step back and find a hole where they can drop something, this is that type of week. We have the perfect blend of theatrical and streaming releases, so let’s dive in.

Weekend movies to watch (and stream) today

  • Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, In Theaters
  • Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, In Theaters
  • Where the Crawdads Sing, In Theaters
  • The Gray Man (Limited), In Theaters
  • Don’t Make Me Go, Prime Video
  • Zombie 3, Disney+
  • Persuasion, Netflix

The weekend’s biggest release is Where the Crawdads Sing, a film adapted from the popular book of the same name. The film follows Kya, played by Daisy Edgar-Jones, about a woman who raised herself and became a suspect in the murder of a man she was once involved with. I’m not sure I will rush out and see this one, but the plot, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and the Taylor Swift song have my interest.

We have Netflix continuing to dip their toes in theatrical releases ahead of their debut on their streaming platform with The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. I love the idea of them exploring the theater option because some of their better films have felt like they would have been even better on the big screen.

A few other options this weekend include the third installment of Disney’s Zombie franchise, the Dakota Johnson-led Persuasion hitting Netflix and Don’t Make Me Go starring John Cho on Prime Video which I highly recommend.
