Nathan Fielder is back with another comedy! And yes, it comes with all the awkwardness we can expect from the comedian. Whether you were a fan of Nathan for You and are wondering if you’d enjoy the new HBO series, or are new to Fielder’s comedy in general, here are our thoughts on if The Rehearsal is worth watching.

Fielder’s new comedy, The Rehearsal, premieres tonight on HBO and HBO Max. There is some confusion around the plot of the new comedy. What is The Rehearsal about? Should you watch it or wait until all episodes are available on HBO? Here are all the details you need to know.

What is The Rehearsal about?

In The Rehearsal, we’ll see Nathan help others practice for a life-changing (or just difficult) decision. Nathan will do this by using unlimited resources, including multiple actors and construction crews, to help these people rehearse for the occasion. And these rehearsals are unlike anything you’ve seen before.

In the premiere episode, “Orange Juice, No Pulp,” Nathan will be helping a trivia-enthusiast come clean to a fellow trivia member about something he has lied about for years.

Is The Rehearsal worth watching?

If we listen to critics, the answer is absolutely! At the time of this writing, The Rehearsal has a 93% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s a pretty good score! But let’s be honest, are critics always right? No. Sometimes, we have to watch a new series or movie ourselves to judge. After all, everyone is different. There is no one-size-fits-all series.

However, Fielder’s comedy is very particular. And if you’ve seen Nathan For You, you know what I’m talking about. So, let’s just say, The Rehearsal isn’t for everyone. If you enjoy comedy with a huge side of awkwardness and are ready to feel some secondhand embarrassment, The Rehearsal is for you. If you find this humor too cringey to handle, don’t bother tuning in. Or do watch, you never know! You may just have found a new favorite comedy. I, for one, strongly suggest it!

What time is The Rehearsal episode 1 on HBO?

The premiere episode of the comedy airs tonight, July 15, at 11 p.m. ET on the HBO network. The HBO Max streaming platform will also have the episode available for you to stream at the same time.
