According to Bill Nye, which TV shows get the science right?

If you’re a millennial like me, you probably remember growing up and chanting along with the theme song to Bill Nye The Science Guy. Bill Nye has been such a staple in the lives of kids learning about all things science and he is still going at it!

In fact, Nye is currently promoting a new series he will be involved in with Seth MacFarlane. While at the San Diego Comic Con, he did an interview with Entertainment Weekly and revealed who he feels has gotten the facts right when it comes to science.

For the most part, in terms of forensics work, he named television shows such as NCIS and CSI as being “generally pretty good.”

Unfortunately if you’re a fan of time travel, he did not give those particular shows a good review. Of course, it’s obvious that we can’t time travel to the past, but wouldn’t it be fun though?

Bill Nye revealed which TV shows he felt get science right

It does make sense that television shows have to fudge the science to make time travel work. But that’s what makes it fun to watch! Sorry The Flash, and any other program that dealt with time travel.

So, which television show did Bill Nye give props to? Well, it might surprise you, but he picked Madam Secretary, the CBS series that ran from 2014-2019 and starred Téa Leoni.

According to Bill Nye, he said that the television show’s response involving a nuclear disaster was “the way you would really do it.”

So the next time you decide to stream Madam Secretary, you’ll know it has his seal of approval!

As for Nye himself, he will be appearing on Peacock’s The End is Nye starting on Aug. 25. The six episode series will follow Nye as he explains how to survive different types of global disasters.

There you have it! The science guy himself said it, so we’ll have to remember which shows to count on when it comes to science. But we’re still going to enjoy our time travel shows despite any inconsistencies there might be.
